Kazakhstan is a country with a huge territroy. In its southern regions, it carries the typical features of Central Asia, same as in Uzbekistan, which is in the very center of Central Asia.
Turkistan, the city, marks an interesting business idea: Remains from old times are fixed and restaurated for tourism. Around it modern buildings are set up in the old style, and also rides for fun and entertainment. When visitors come in the very hot sommer, the water flowing aroung the new buildings will give them refreshing air and some comfort.
What was really interesting to me was a new museum, showing parts of the excavations that are still going on, right next to the newly build park. Already now, the museum displays some very interesting pieces that corrected my knowledge of history of Central Asia. And there is more to come!
