Kabulis applaud: The National Unity Government of Afghanistan has nominated 25 candidates for its ministries, the Afghanistan Times reports.
During his oath taking ceremony the nes President Ashraf Ghanis had promised to form a government within 45 days, but then it was a difficult task to find the right candidates: Some had talent, some had money, some had good connections and some had a lot of experience. “In Afghanistan it is not easy to find clean birds” a Kabul citzen told me. After almost 30 years of civil war and a breath taking record of drug traffic that is no sruprise.
The annoucement of candidates is another big step forward in the making of a new Afghan government, even if it took 100 days.
